Institute founder Denise Roffe said she does not go looking for ghosts, and often SIPR debunks reports of 'things that go bump in the night,' but Roffe told the group she once saw the ghost of a woman from the early 1900's at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta during an investigation, and has experienced the supernatural. The Southeastern Institute of Paranormal Research (SIPR), a non-profit organization, defines a ghost as 'the energy, soul and personality of a person who once lived' and around 20 people who sat in the dark with SPIR researchers, and one of those researchers, feel that is precisely what they experienced. Lesley is a Christian and especially believes in Guardian Angels as she feels she has had one looking over her during her lifetime. She has had unexplained phenomena and experiences happen to her since a child and goes into the investigations with an open mind. She has always taken the approach that no one really knows for sure what all is out there when your speaking of the paranormal and unexplained occurrences. Lesley has been participating in history tours and investigations for over 20 years and has always seen the field of paranormal investigation combined with the history as fascinating. Lesley has travelled extensively all over the United States, most notably the Southern United States and has enjoyed learning the history of all the fascinating cities the South has to offer. Her love of travel, history, science and the unexplained or the paranormal is what gave her the idea to start her Southern Ghost Girls Tours and Paranormal Investigations, LLC Tours and Paranormal Investigations project.
